The Great C Party

In the first of our series highlighting our favorite blogs, videos, websites and events, this week we look at the Great British C Party.

Organized annually by the UK charity Hepatitis C Trust, the Great British C Party is an annual dinner party attended by celebrities, top chefs and friends of the charity with the aim of raising awareness of hepatitis C and liver health.

This year, led by TV chef and writer Gizzi Erskine, stars like Sadie Frost and Miranda Sawyer enjoyed a liver-friendly dinner of cauliflower cheese and roast beets at Boy George’s house in London. You can see a video from this year’s party and last year’s on the Hepatitis C Trust website.

The Great British C Party team also encourages people to host their own C parties and to cook with lean meat and fish, lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and herbs and spices, all of which help the liver to stay healthy. As Gizzi says: “Eat as many colors as you can, eat more than your five a day. Start thinking about your liver.”

The Great British C Party is a great campaign that does a fantastic job of raising awareness of hep C in a fun and accessible way. Check out their website for some brilliant recipes and all the tools you need to throw your own C party.
